Heart of The Congos

The Congos starteten ihre Karriere als Duo, bestehend aus Cedric Myton und Roy Johnson. Das Debütalbum, 1977 von Lee Perry im Black Ark Studio produziert, ist im Originalcover wieder lieferbar. Die beiden Sänger wurden hierbei vom Harmoniegesang der Meditations, sowie von Watty Bennett und Candy McKenzie unterstützt. Die wichtigsten Musiker waren Boris Gardiner (Bass), Ernest Ranglin & Robert ‘Billy’ Johnson (Gitarren), Keith Sterling & Winston Wright (Piano & Orgel), Michael Richards sowie Sly Dunbar (Schlagzeug) und nicht zuletzt die Perkussionisten Skully Sims und Brother Joe.
